Cristóbal Ruiz is an award winning filmmaker and photographer. His work, both alluring and emotive, focuses on documenting the HUMAN SPIRIT. Cristóbal was born and raised in Chile and today he is based in between Canada. His work has taken him from South America to Europe and East Africa documenting stories of hope and he is also the founder of the production company "Pachamama Film", which focuses on producing storytelling films that inspire change in our surrounding communities.
Cristobal’s recent work has been seen Showtime, Waterbear Network, Destination Canada, Peoples Planet project and film festivals around the world.

Cristóbal most recent film Weaving the Path documents the revival of the weaving tradition in the Musquam communities here in Vancouver, BC.
His film Añay Kachi: The Salt Workers of the Peruvian Andes (2020) has been selected in film festivals around the world including Banff International Mountain Film Festival (Canada), Kendal Mountain Film Festival in the UK, Mountainfilm in Telluride, USA, Winner of ONA film festival in Venice, among others. Cristóbal is also an ambasasdor and creative director for @peoplesplanetproject. An organization that empowers indigenous comunities from rainforests around the world through the power of filmmaking and photography as tools in the legal battle to defend their lands from deforestation.
